Haiti – A BAD Proposal

I feel for the people in Haiti. They in no way deserved what they got two weeks ago when a massive earthquake demolished the capitol of Port Au Prince. However, the world either needs to put up or shut up. France claims we are just occupying there. Italy says our humanitarian effort is garbage and we are not doing anything right. The ignorant dictator of Venezuela says that we caused the earthquake when we tested a weapon we were planning to use on Iran.

What the hell? How about we just pull out all of our aid and send ZERO relief effort? I am not just talking about Haiti, but all around the world. How about we just stop sending billions around the world in support of all manner of afflictions. Where was the rest of the world with its gobs of money and aid? If they are not going to put up, they need to SHUT THE HELL UP.

Now, there are some in congress saying that the USA needs to issue work visas to those in Haiti wanting to relocate here until things are better in Haiti. Excuse me? Do these people not see the massive issue we already have with people illegally over-staying their visa? Opening the flood gates for hundreds of thousands of dislocated Haitians is BAD VOODOO for the States. Those people need to be quiet as well.

UPDATE: Why do we need to support our troops? To keep stuff like this from happening. IDIOTS!

I took a bit of time off from blogging and stuff. Just needed a breather. I had found myself struggling with what to write, and I didn’t just want to re-play what was being passed through the other blogs- although that IS part of what I do.

So for my first blog after returning, I want to encourage you to get out there and support the troops. It doesn’t matter how, as long as you are committed and willing to go the extra mile to let them know just how valuable we feel they are.

And, for purely selfish reasons, I would like to direct your attention to Boy Scouts of America. They are beginning their annual popcorn drive, and one of the items up for sale is sending popcorn to the troops. All you need to do is go see a scout and order it.

Of course, even easier, you can go online to do it. And therein lies my selfishness. If you want to do the online order, I would suggest that you support one particular scout- mine :). You see, each scout gets credit for sales, and if you go online, why not support MY scout? Here is how:

Welcome Home

Michael Speicher

Michael Scott Speicher (July 12, 1957– January 17, 1991) was a United States Navy pilot who was shot down during the Gulf War of 1991. He was the first American combat casualty of the conflict, although his death was not confirmed until August 2, 2009.

The Florida State University named its tennis center after Speicher, an avid player. The $1.2 million Scott Speicher Tennis Complex was completed in 2003.
A memorial statue and plaque was erected onboard Naval Air Station Cecil Field dedicated to him. The Naval Air Station has since been deactivated.

A memorial headmarker dedicated to Speicher stands in Section H of Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. The memorial markers are erected when there are no identifiable remains for an individual whose death has been substantiated. Cemetery policy states that if remains are later recovered, the headmarker will be interred with the coffin.

In effort to honor Speicher, a former Iraqi air base in the northern Iraqi city of Tikrit was renamed COB Speicher.

On August 13, 2009 the remains of Captain Michael Scott Speicher arrived in Florida 18 years after having been shot down in the Persian Gulf War. The plane containing his remains touched down at Jacksonville Naval Air Station at 3 p.m. Captain Speicher’s final resting place is at the Jacksonville Memory Garden.

A parade welcomed him home, followed by a 21-gun salute by the Jacksonville Sheriff Office. A true patriot indeed.

At Least Someone Is Thinking Ahead

With North Korea working ever-faster to get their long-range missile program flying (and with potential NUKES to boot) I was pretty concerned that Glorious Leader directed the cutting of missile systems. Of course, the argument was that these systems were unproven (even though they have repeatedly tested well) and we need the extra money- to fund things like nationalized health care.

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, at least, sees the threat of a nuclear bomb flying our way as very serious and has set up missile defenses in Hawaii. Nice. Go on vacation and watch the might of our military in action all at the same time.

The Real War Effort

While we all sit around and fee sorry for ourselves, while we bitch about the media and its obvious bias, how we are not as well off as the guy down the street, remember that there are those putting much more on the line than we.

Our troops are spoken about with reverence(usually). Every politician (mostly) tells about the great job the men and women of our fighting forces are doing. I would hazard a guess that well over 90% of America talks positively about them.

But talk is cheap. What are you actually DOING to help our troops? If you truly want to make a difference, then watch this video and learn.

Insult To Injury

UPDATE: 3/18/2009 Glorious Leader and his band of Fairy Men have waved the white flag on this. (for now, I am sure).

This report is near and dear to my heart. I served 20 years in the military and know just how crappy the pay is. The one bright side was the cost of health care.

Now, of course, after jacking up spending to insane levels, the idiots in the administration now want to charge the troops for what ails them. Thanks idiots.

Imagine That!

So, dear readers, what we have been saying all along is corroborated by the Pentagon. Just yesterday, President Bush went on the offensive about Guantanamo. He said that for all of the countries who bitched about our keeping TERRORISTS locked up in Cuba, not a single one of them agreed to let them be moved to their country for holding while awaiting trial.

Imagine That!

The reports are all around, letting the world know just how good the TERRORISTS in Gitmo have it, including hot meals, video games and time to pray as they see fit. Of course, one will never see it reported in the media, as it is not good slander against our troops or the president.

Now, it seems, that the folks in the Pentagon are opening up about an interesting development on the battlefield. It seems that some of those poor, misunderstood TERRORISTS who were allowed to be let go because they were ‘illegally’ detained as TERRORISTS in Cuba are now showing up in increasing numbers as attackers against our troops.

Imagine that!

For all of you liberal bitches who continue to whine about what we are doing to protect our country, SHUT THE #$@! UP (edited from original comment with apologies for getting all worked up) and stay in your hidey-hole, while we go out and do what is NECESSARY to inflict pure retribution on the TERRORISTS who seek to destroy us.

Yes, Slow The Military Development

I have to say, I am particularly pleased that Mr. Obama wants to significantly cut the military budget and slow the develpoment of military weapons. In doing so, he will be able to show our enemies that we are committed to becoming a leader in the global peace movement.

Additionally, Obama will cut our stock of nuclear weapons, while getting our Russian counterparts to do the same. Since Vladimir Putin has shown himself to be a reliable and valuable ally to not only the United States, but all of the small countries surrounding Russia, I am sure that this plan of the Freshman senator from Illinois is much better than anything his two dozen or so foreign affairs advisors could come up with.

But don’t believe me, look at the shock video below. You will see just where our money has been wasted. Much better would have been to just give it to the homeless.
