With everything going on around us, it is easy to lose focus on some of the other things still out there waiting in the wings. There is still Cap and tax. There is still the Gun issue. There is still Card Check. There are numerous and varied things out there, each one with the potential to usurp yet more power from the people.

Also out there is the big, right-wing propagated conspiracy theory known as the Fairness Doctrine. Those who understand the issue know that bringing back this ancient ceremony launched by the FCC would be a bad move for the administration. So instead, they have publicly said that the Fairness Doctrine is not going to be reinstated but behind the scenes they are enforcing localism.

What does that mean? It means that if a station does not conform to what the FCC says, the license will not be renewed. Instead of a 7-year renewal, it will be a one or two year renewal. Private stations will be forced to pay a ‘tax’ equal to 100% of its annual operating cost. What will that money be used for? It will go to National Public Radio, which are RIVALS of the private companies. So, without calling for the Fairness Doctrine, they are forcing it upon private industry.

Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh discuss it and put it in good terms. If you don’t watch Beck, you should. He is conservative, yes, but he attacks both parties with equal fervor.

Hooray! Now Minorities Can Finally Be Equal

Talk radio consistently kicks the ass of liberal media because people want to hear the truth upon occasion. That is not to say that ALL media outlets are liberally biased, or routinely pump out propaganda, but the reason FOX and talk radio are called far right is because the rest of the media is so far to the left.

Nothing liberals have done has been able to crack the popularity of talk radio. Air America failed, MSNBC is failing, the NYT is failing. None of them- not one – can hope to compete.

Therefore Glorious Leader and his Merry Band of Losers are now targeting how the ratings are counted. Because the electronic devices worked (called PPM), and worked very well, it seems that some of the big name conservatives actually have bigger numbers than previously thought, and some big name liberals (Sharpton, anyone?) are getting even more hammered than before.

Because of this result, the method of counting is now being deemed RACIST and so must be scrapped in favor of a more ‘equitable’ method. I guess this means we are only allowed to count every OTHER listener for talk radio. At least then the whiny liberals will be able to get about half of the ratings conservatives are able to rake in.

I will never understand. When you are a liberal LOSER, you have to change the rules to try and win. This culture war is really getting to be pathetic. I cannot wait for it all to come crashing down around Obama’s ears. And trust me, I will be the first to point and laugh.

In fact, if they manage to usurp the entire constitution and make us a Fascist state I will, again, point my finger at everyone who voted for him and say I told you so, laughing all the way to the reeducation camps.

The Government Knows Best, So Just Shut Up

Here we go again. People in congress have laughed it off. People in the media have said that it will not hapopen, because it is just plain dumb.

Welcome to IDIOTSVILLE. The FCC Chairman, Michael Copps, has now put together a ‘panel’ that will help in charting a new course in the broadcasting world.

Copps said, “I am extremely pleased to announce the membership of this vital Advisory Committee, which will provide an important and independent voice for strengthening our commitment to diversity. The sad truth is that the diversity of this great nation is not reflected in the ownership of its media and telecommunications facilities. The time has come to chart a new course, to roll up our sleeves and get to work to craft sustainable solutions.”

Ah yes. There is not enough diversity in the media. I guess there are not enough channels to choose from? The Fairness Doctrine, by any other name, is the Fairness Doctrine. Liberals are so pissed off that talk radio and FOX are kicking their ass across the board that this is their only chance to be heard. We shall fight them tooth and nail.

Get ready to fight the good fight.

Release The Dogs Of War

The ink was not even dry at the polling places before Nancy Pelosi and her lameduck congress were out touting things to come. On its way, for our ‘salvation’ is yet another stimulus package. Last time I received something like $2400 dollars. Am I going to get more of the same? If I cry that it is not enough, will I be allowed more gruel?

It is pathetic that people are jubilant that we are mortgaging our future by putting into power a group whose sole purpose is to make America dependent on them. They hug us close and whisper motherly words into our ears, telling us that we will be alright because they are here to take care of us.

After this initial phase of the new social agenda will come the recommendation of re-instating the Fairness Doctrine. With such a renewal, broadcasting will be limited to paltry, uncontroversial issues. To do otherwise would invite every kook on the planet to make their ideas heard on a station. If a conservative view is given on a topic, so must every other view be given. It will thus rob journalists from truly having free speech. Program managers will ‘play it safe’. Don’t take my word for it, though. It is just a historical fact,a s described in the linked article.

Why do I personally fear this doctrine? Talk radio has kicked the a$$ of the liberal media, taking huge shares from their market. Talk radio would be stripped of its ability to stand against the liberal media. Nancy Pelosi supports the return of the doctrine for obvious reasons.

Next on their agenda will be to address the global healthcare question. When that comes, stand by. It is the first of many steps to the complete socializing of our government. Don’t get me wrong, as I have said before, I will never forgive ANY congressional leader who voted for the bailout. That in and of itself was a major, socialistic step. But as to where we are going… the revolution is at hand. Will you be a leader or a follower?

Beyond Obamanomic Plans

I have stated before (and will post shortlty) that beyond taxes and his desire to pass a bill removing any and all restrictions on abortion – and even says that it overrides any national, state or local statutes past, present or FUTURE – the biggest concern that I have with this election is that should Obama win, the extreme left would control both houses of congress as well as the white house.

This isn’t your grandfathers democratic party. I have liberal views on some issues, particularly when it comes to the environment, but the views held by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid scare the crap out of me. Their ultra-liberalism is not in line with the mainstream and with Obama in power, each and every bill put before him will be passed without question.

I have already argued his tax plan, and stated his desire to pass the Freedom of Choice Act (lock up your daughters!). Another worrisome issue is the Media Ownership Reform Act of 2005. It has failed to pass, being blocked by staunch Republicans as well as the threat of veto by the president (and presidents past). What does this act do? It restructures and re-enforces the
Fairness Doctrine imposed on the media by the FCC. The FCC stopped enforcing the rule long ago, despite the pressures of the politically left.

Under the rule, every institution falling under the FCC rule would be required to modify their programming to conform to what the FCC deems ‘fair’. Basically, if a station presents controversial opinions, they would be forced to present equal time for an opposing side. The FCC already has rules in place that ensures both sides are presented, but there is nothing that says
to what extent the other side must be presented. So, broadcast medias would be forced to expend as much time FOR their side as they do AGAINST the left. In other words, we will not be allowed to hold an opinion…. Because it wouldn’t be fair…

Some say that is what it should be. But having big brother tell me how vigorously I am required to express my opponents side just opens a Pandora’s box of potential issues. And, I might add, the ones who are pushing for the Fairness Doctrine are the very same leaders I mentioned above – Pelosi, Reid, Kerry, etc. Conservative Talk Radio beware… Big Brother Wants You!
