The Great Flip Flop

Charlie Crist has shown just why he could never be elected by Conservatives. He was all for the Florida Education bill until union pressures came. Now he is trying to link it to the healthcare bill in an effort to garner support. He supported the stimulus. He says he would have voted for the health care fiasco. he calls himself a conservative at heart.

Huh?

I didn’t get a chance to blog it before he vetoed, but the second phase is coming. Charlie Crist will drop his run as a Republican and will now run as an independent- in a COMPLETE flip from what he promised during his debate with candidate Marco Rubio.

Watch and see. He has until the end of April.

The man has ZERO integrity or honor.

How Much Do You Love School

Glorious Leader once again let Americans know just how much they suck with regards to the rest of the world. Not only do we teach our kids crap, but we don’t teach that crap for long enough periods.

Apparently, schools are just not there for the children. Now GL wants them to have shorter summers. He wants them to be available on weekends and for longer hours during the day. Of course, I am quite sure that the Teacher’s Union will be HAPPY to accommodate his request. Just show them the money.

I guess the fact that the crap we teach our kids- which is truly crap – has no bearing on how badly we suck compared to the rest of the world. Like every other liberal before him, GL thinks that tossing more money at it will fix the problem.

Ask the poor or the drug users how much our government money has fixed their problems.

States’ Rights Now Gone The Way Of The Pontiac

For years, the 10th Amendment held that states had more power than the federal government. If a state decided that the fed had over stepped its bounds, they didn’t have to follow along.

Then there is the issue of the courts. I was under the impression that courts ruled OPINION but that it was up to the states to implement the ruling into law. States did not have to obey what the court said if they did not want to. Granted, most times the ruling was made to law, but many times it did not. Most times the court decision was followed because (I guess) people are stupid. I suppose this happens when we get away from teaching the constitution and begin to teach case law instead. It is so much more fluid and progressive.

Now comes the ultimate usurpation of a state’s rights. When the PORKULUS bill was passed, there was a section added that said if a governor elected to NOT take stimulus money, the state legislature could override him. Imagine that. The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT dictating what a STATE could do or not do.

In South Carolina, Governor Sanford refused the money. Well, actually, of the 2.8 billion coming their way, he had direct control over $700 million. He refused to take it. Bring on the idiotic liberal pinheads, including the HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT who has absolutely no idea what the hell she is talking about and a liberal court system and you have a decision that kills the right of a state to decide for itself what is best.

The court said that the governor has NO POWER to refuse ANY of the PORKULUS money. So, not South Carolina is giving up the fight and taking all of the money. As well, they are going to be strapped with all of the strings that come with that funding.

I truly feel for those who say they were going to lose their jobs because of it. Sorry. If I lose my job I will go on unemployment while looking for another. I don’t care about what kind of work. I will seek a job in my field, anywhere in the country, until I either find one or am forced to work outside my field.

The liberal mantra is always the same: we will cut services because we cannot find anywhere else to cut. So, people will cry out and scream bloody murder that those opposing the spending are hate mongers, anti-this or that or whatever other slanderous term they can think of.

I won’t say I hope that things turn from bad to worse just to spite them, that is totally against what I stand for. However, I firmly believe in the deepest part of my heart that this country is completely screwed. When the funding ends (imagine that, just in time for the 2012 elections) then we will be right in the same spot we have always been in, just a whole lot deeper in debt. Wat then? Shall we dig even deeper for even MORE money? When does the ride end?

I think the teachers that were losing their jobs SHOULD lose their jobs. NO, not ALL of them, but I have no doubt that a large portion of them spent years pressing the Progressive aganda to the hilt. Look where it has brought our country.

IDIOTS. They have killed states’ rights even further. Soon they will go the way of the Pontiac.

Get Your Kids Into College

Before the slot is given to an illegal alien.

Like every other federal program, the cost would be incredibly lower if we would just take steps to ensure that only LEGAL citizens receive the benefit. Health care, schools, WIC, housing and a host of other social programs are designed to help ‘poorer’ people, but in fact dole out billions annually to those not even here legally.

My father-in-law’s son came to the US and actually was offered a mortgage on a home at significantly better rates than me just because he was an immigrant. California is going bankrupt in its effort to try and feed the masses- even the illegals. Now, as is wanted by Glorious Leader, House Democrats and RINO’s have re-submitted the DREAM Act, which is just a covert means of giving illegal aliens federal money to go to school. Of course, with slots being limited, this means that YOUR son or daughter will miss out if you do not reserve them a slot now.

And, of course, this NEW spending is just more on top of what has already been proposed. Un. Be. Lievable.

Why The Education System Sucks

Look at Detroit and the UAW (United Auto Workers Union). One need look no further to understand why the education system is in such a shambles. They are unions. And unions are killing almost every industry they run.

The NEA (National Education Association) works hard to prevent any reform of education whatsoever. Its lone beating mantra is more money for teachers, more money for teachers, and more money for teachers. Why would they want more teachers?

They will then have more dues paying members, of course.

But let there be real reform. How about merit pay instead of contracted pay? People are so paranoid that the EVIL school boards will rip off the POOR teachers. But under contract, the board is forced to pay a crappy teacher the same as a teacher willing to put in extra effort and who has proven results.

In LA, when most of the schools received failing grades, the local NEA blocked the board’s attempt to institute merit pay for teachers, saying that it would be ‘a cold day in hell’ when they allowed that sort of reform to occur.

When the St. Petersburg Times asked Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association executive director Jade Moore why few teachers were signing up for the merit pay program the union helped design for the school district, Moore replied, “Our goal was to make it nearly impossible.

Imagine that. A union whose sole purpose is to extort dues from its members and block education reform.

Don’t get me wrong. At one time in our history unions played a valuable part. But with modern society, myriad of new laws governing the workplace, the time for unions is over. All they do is strip the employer of any ability to make a profit or function freely. Look at the auto workers who get 95% pay even when laid off. Or the teacher who is so crappy and involved with scandal that he is removed from the classroom- and moved to an office with the school board at the same pay he was getting as a teacher, because the union contract prevented his dismissal.

People are crying out about the budget cuts. What is the answer? Give the schools more federal funding? When does the begging stop? I am all for federal subsidies for education. It is one of the few areas where I am FOR federal money.

But look at D.C. They have a voucher scholarship program that allows kids to go to private schools. D.C, OUR CAPITAL has some of the worst schools in the country. And with his new $410 billion bill, Obama is cutting the program funding and forcing all of those poor kids back into the crappy public schools.

For the children my ass. It is all about keeping people ignorant and uneducated so they won’t have a clue what is really being done to them.
