Do You REALLY Know Your Taxes?

Glorious Leader screamed from the mountain that an unprecedented 95% of Americans will receive a tax credit because, well, he hath proclaimed it so. Well, they DID do it. They passed trillions of dollars in spending and smiled for the cameras as they said Told You So.

Unfortunately, they forgot to mention that a large number of people who got this tax credit will have to return much of it next year. You cannot make this stupidity up.

From the AP, an Obama-favoring group:

The tax credit is supposed to provide up to $400 to individuals and $800 to married couples as part of the massive economic recovery package enacted in February. Most workers started receiving the credit through small increases in their paychecks in the past month.

But new tax withholding tables issued by the IRS could cause millions of taxpayers to get hundreds of dollars more than they are entitled to under the credit, money that will have to be repaid at tax time.

At-risk taxpayers include a broad swath of the public: married couples in which both spouses work; workers with more than one job; retirees who have federal income taxes withheld from their pension payments and Social Security recipients with jobs that provide taxable income.

Lovely, is it not. As I explained in 100 Days of Night, these are the things happening out of sight, off camera. These are the happenings that scare the daylights out of me.

The revolution is at hand. Will you be a leader or a follower?

  1. Not suprised. I can only hope the people who voted for ‘change’ for change sake will realize that THIS is NOT the ‘change’ they were hoping for and make the necessary corrections come the next election cycle. At least then, it will be a beginning towards returning this country back to We the People. At present, it’s more like We the Sheeple.
And POTUSINO is doing all he can to keep it that way!!!
Something told me not to accept this so-called ‘tax rebate’ on my paycheck because I figured there was some sort of strings attached, but I said, “what the heck” and let it happen anyway. I guess come next April 15th, I’ll find out how bad I’ve screwed myself by that little error in judgement……Typical…

    • It isn’t really a BIG deal. The money is not a lot, but they are doing the three card Monte on folks.

Follow the tax break. Where oh where is the tax break now?

      You fund it! You WIN!

Then you lose your ass trying to get ever more ‘breaks’.

    • When Sean Hannity goes to the streets of New York and asks people who the vice president is and they don’t know, and who the secretary of state is, and they don’t know,
but when asked who the president is, THEY KNOW!

let alone the supreme court, or congress.

The media ran his campaign for him!

This mentality put him in office, and this is what we have to defeat in 2010.

Ignorance will destroy this country, we can’t let that happen.

  2. Also…when this ‘tax break’ ends in a couple years, guess who will be stuck with possibly a higher tax burden after POTUSINO and his minions get through ‘fixing’ the tax tables? I’m already paying a 60.cent higher tax per pack of cigs (I know, I know…gotta quit) thanks to Zero. I figured the two would cancel each other out. Now??? Not so much…

  3. AFVET, Nice to see a fellow former service member find this site (Me…Navy, Seabees-’73 to ’79) among others. I’ve sorta discovered this site at the beginnings (I think) and have worried rnw to death with my comments. Between us, we may be able to keep sean’s head from exploding:-)
    (just kidding, Sean…just kidding)

    • Navy is running this site.

He might consider an all vet site on another thread, and let us vets vent a bit, sans the politics.

Navy,…there’s lots of us out here.

      • Well, while I may be retired Navy, this site is open to everyone and I try to represent the entire spectrum.

Notice my weekly Honoree posts reminding people that there are many out there giving their all for the country.

And, while the site is political because that is my current interest, If there is something you want to discuss, drop me a line and i would be glad to put it up.

        Sean~

  4. I fear I may have been misunderstood.

I think this site is GREAT!

    Nothing wrong here at all.

I was alluding to the stories VETS like to share.

    You know ….bar talk.

    That’s all.

Keep up the good work Navy, here’s to you.

  5. Navy,…Your weekly Honoree posts are of interest.

My wife works for a company that actively supports troops overseas.

    I need more info.

Another resource is DVIDSHUB.NET, a direct feed to Georgia, via satellite from the troops “over there”.
