I am a Conservative American.
I believe that it is my duty to ensure my children live a better life than I did; it is NOT THEIR duty to pay so I can live beyond my means.
I believe that life begins at conception. Abortion is murder in the eyes of God- and me.
I believe that the current policies being enacted by our current government are designed to undermine my rights as a citizen and enslave everyone to a one-world, government-owned state.
Because of these beliefs, the Department of Homeland Security now targets me and others of my viewpoint as “Rightwing Extremists”. Under cover of a lie- a lie that says they have done the same for “Leftwing Extremists” they have published a report dictating just who we are and what we stand for (and against).
To make matters scarier, they are even planning to do in-dept study to see just were in teh country the most radicalized people are found.
Big government is good? If you were afraid of what Bush was doing to our constitution, then you should be petrified of this.
The revolution is at hand. Will you be a leader or a follower?

It has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with systematic stripping of rights by both sides.
As for torture… call it what you will. If a terrorist comes after my family and gets caught, I could care less what they do to get whatever information they need. But that is a choice between God and me.
I imagine if THEY caught ME, they would treat me with as much care and consideration as we treat OUR prisoners.

It’s not conservatives’ beliefs that make them targeted, but rather all this talk lately of stockpiling arms, overthrow of the government, and general xenophobia. It should be noted as well that these are not traits common to most conservatives, but there does tend to be a lot of such talk on Free Republic and Malkin’s blog comments.
I can understand the stockpiling comments, as the rules being proposed would make it nearly too expensive to get ammo.
As to the Free Republic, I don’t frequent there. I do frequent Michelle Malkin but haven’t seen any real over-the-top serious talk like that.
I don’t want to see the government overthrown at all. What I DO want is a government to actually listen to the people. When a huge majority are against something, when the congress itself says they get calls upwards of 10:1 against something yet they still do it anyway, I say it is time to vote them out…
Unfortunately, I think that a lot of damage will be done in the next 2 years. We only look to immediate gratification in this country. No one but the ‘right wing’ is actively talking about the inflation that will HAVE to happen. And when it does hit, it will be the 70’s part 2- but worse.

It’s all a very sad and unbelievable account of our government today under the Democrats.
War seems inevitable, it’s now just a matter of time….it may take a few years, but the Marxists in our gov’t are pushing us up against the wall.
I pray that our nation survives this, but if it doesn’t, then perhaps the division of the country will ensure at least pockets and regions of patriots who love the document that was written in 1776.
I don’t see a revolution in the future. To be honest, there are not enough people to stand up for it.
With that said, I fully believe the revolution will come in the form of a voter revolution. THAT is what I hope for. Some places are too far gone, IMO, but I have faith that there are millions like me willing to be as activist as needed to drive our country back to the constitution.
Well, during the Bush era and the warrantless wiretapping and violations of Constitutional protection against warrantless searches, the neo-coonservatives were fond of proclaiming “if you’ve done nothing wrong, then you’ve nothing to worry about”.

Please provide specific examples of the masses of innocent Americans who were wiretapped while carrying on normal phone conversations with friends and neighbors who were not suspected of being involved in terrorism.
Have you thought for a moment about how many potential attacks were thwarted with help from intelligence gathered from the wiretaps… why of course not because that information is classified and cannot be broadcast to legions of whiney-ass liberals who require their information be spoon-fed to them by MSNBC and the rest of the Obama mania liberal news media.
I am with Joe on this… and with Dave. In truth, if there were illegal wiretaps, and it was not prosecuted, there should be an inquiry. The Patriot Act, while goodly-intentioned is just like every other reactionary thing this body of government does.
I want my rights. However, I have NO problem with legal tapping going on between someone Stateside and someone over seas. If the other side is suspected of terrorist activity, then we NEED to monitor. I have yet to see anything proving there were wiretaps inside the USA. If there were, there was nothing in the MSM- something I find hard to believe.
I also think we need to ensure the FISA rules are upheld. What bothers me most is that wiretaps were authorized and FISA was not visited after the fact- something that is in the rules and was designed so that quick action could be taken AND legal rules followed.

Let’s put a little perspective on the Bush Administration’s decisions post 911:
1941: Pearl Harbor casualties… 2402. Hawaii is not even a state in the union. We go to war over this attack and are soon embroiled in the bloodiest worldwide conflict in the history of mankind. We win because we are right, and the vast majority of our populace are smart enough to understand the gravity of the situation and the sacrifce necessary to win…
2001: 911 casualties… 2976. By far the worst single attack on US soil by a foreign force in the history of this country. Within weeks of the 911 debacle people are dying from anthrax attacks. A new president is faced with an unprecedented set of catasrophic circumstances that his country has NEVER seen before. At first, the country seems united. They support the president and his decisions to implement profound measures to ensure the safety of the the citizenry. We drive the Taliban out of Afghanistan and into caves within a few weeks of engagement. We take the fight from our own soil to the land of the perpetrators. We methodically exterminate or incarcerate many of the extremists responsible for the planning and implementation of the attacks. We start to learn of other foiled attempts at killing our people within our own borders… remember the dirty bomber? the shoe bomber? the plans to use crop dusters to spray nerve agents?…
Please! All you pansy-ass, whining, Obama-ass-kissing pinkos need to go back to 4th grade and re-study history to understand the past 8.5 years. Oh wait! Nevermind, I forgot that our school system has been saturated and infested with liberal, pansy, pinko doctrine-preaching “teachers” for so long that real history has taken a back seat to revisionist, liberal history.

Forget, please, “conservatism.” It has been, operationally, de facto, Godless and therefore irrelevant. Secular conservatism will not defeat secular liberalism because to God both are two atheistic peas-in-a-pod and thus predestined to failure. As Stonewall Jackson’s Chief of Staff R.L. Nicely put, John. I have spoken with my mom over the years and she alludes to this very fact.
As we started moving God from public life, our ‘life’ has gotten worse and worse. Now i see a society of people who have little or no respect for anyone or anything. It is a ‘Gimme Gimme’ mentality.
I think there is more to it than home foreclosures, unemployment etc. It’s trust, trust that has been lost for the ones who govern us, our bosses in Washington. I would not want to work for someone that looks me in the eye and says all is okay, when they know that you know it is not and still want you to just shut up and go away, dont look up, left or right, just do your piddley little part with the rest of the slaves and all will be okay. Trust me!
What about the new revelations that traces of advanced explosive’s have been found in all the dust samples from the twin towers destruction. Results from researchers submitted to a peer review and found valid just this past week, April 3rd, 2009. This should be front page news every where and it’s not even being pursued. OMG now the truth is out, they powers that be destroyed the towers and they brand us extremists? They who called the shots to do that are not entitled to be our bosses or leaders. But they just smirk and brush us off, “Go away flea!” the world is as good as ours. Active military, National Guard, all law enforcement remember you can refuse an unlawful order. Dont let the puppet masters use you to go against what you know in your heart is right. They did 9-11 and when they are done with you, they will do you, you have to know that!

One more point, while true that jet fuel by itself and no other factors cannot melt steel, with the air flow through the building it can. I may not know how you define the words “dolt” and “hypocrisy”, but I do know you still haven’t supplied a single shred of evidence to support your former post inferring widespread wiretapping of innocent Americans.
Put up or shut up, and while you’re at it, please define what a “neo-COONservative” is.
I agree there were many who said that. I, myself, say that I have no issue with the FISA court being used to get a wiretap between a foreign country suspected of terror ties and someone stateside.
And honestly, if two callers INSIDE the USA are suspect I have no issue with the wiretapping there either.
The recent edict from DHS however is nothing like the Patriot Act. In this, it says that since my mom is against abortion and believes that the current policies will destroy our country- meaning she is totally opposed to the domestic agenda of the administration- that she should be on an extremist watch list.
Yet someone who disrupts a soldier’s funeral because they disagree with the war in Iraq is perfectly fine. We have to call the War On Terror an Overseas Contingency operation and terrorist acts are to be called man-made disasters, but someone who believes the government is too big and needs to reign itself in is called a domestic terrorist. Where are the hypocrisy-criers in that?
When I first received a copy of this assessment I told the person who sent it to me to burn the original and wipe their hard-drive. I couldn’t believe that someone would be floating a copy of a document that was labeled FOUO and Law Enforcement Sensitive to me on a non-government e-mail. My first instructions to them were “don’t send this to anyone else and assume it is a fraud until I can verify the authenticity of it, and don’t send it to anyone until it shows up in the media”.
After verifying that the document was real and that it was in the hands of the public, I gave it a more thorough read and was, like many others, shocked. According to the DHS assessment virtually everything they outline as a threat points to me. I immediately began looking for men with dark glasses and tazers to tackle me at my desk.
For the record, I’m an 18 year veteran of the military, with three years of service in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001. I strongly support gun ownership. I oppose most of the tax and spend policies that have been rammed down our throats in the past few months. I’m as middle-class as a person can get and was offended by Nancy Pelosi’s comments that the tea-party participants were “astro-turf” instead of grass-roots supporters. I would have been there myself if I had known in enough time to put in vacation time.
I just want to thank you and others like you for making sure this issue is brought to and kept in the forefront of the minds of the people.
In regards to my last post..it’s late and I’m tired so I missed the mark a bit…
I’m just floored that I could be considered a “rightwing extremist” for my views and find it extremely ironic that the recently published and obviously sensitive assessment would be “leaked” to the public on the day of the tea parties. You may call it circumstantial evidence, but in my court of public opinion the timing of this release was a blatant and intentional leak by the administration to counter the effectiveness of the tea parties.
If this stunt had been pulled by the Bush Administration there would have been an immediate rebuke and investigation from Congress.

Hello, fellas, I hope you don’t mind me posting, but this is an awfully congenial blog. I’m not a veteran, but I like them.
Thought I’d share with you guys a little Tea Party anecdote. My grandddaughter wanted to come, even though she had not the slightest idea what they’re about. Well, that won’t do, so I spent a couple evenings (she lives here) explaining what’s been done to her and why she’s entitled to take a day off from “school” and come. She was kind of appalled. Her protest sign said, “Honk if I’m paying your mortgage.” A little 10 year old kid, gap-toothed, likes to braid her hair with beads, always with the same dirty beloved Hannah Montana T-shirt.
I kept her abreast of developments as days went by, including this DHS thingie. She scrunched her freckled face and said, “But that’s so stoopid!”
When we were leaving to go to the Tea Party she decided to write on the back of her sign, “Right wing extremest.” (Gov’t school educated) She said, “I want to make it easy for those dummies to find me.”
Anyway, on the serious side, all I am is a 50 year old grandma, a housewife, a (mostly) law-abiding citizen, dumb schmuck white middle class taxpayer, I’ve never had an abortion, I don’t live beyond my means, heck, I’m not even a lesbian, so I understand that gov’t has no use for the likes of me. There’s no political capital here for them, since I don’t want anything from the ruling class except to be left alone. I’m used to being ignored, pushed around, marginalized, ridiculed, disenfranchised, disregarded, you know…the hell with me.
But when this nutjob gov’t comes out and insults veterans I swear…
And it is stupid! Of all the people to antagonize, how dumb can they be to target veterans? The one group of people with talent, skills, intelligence, discipline, I mean, come on! I would laugh if it weren’t so awful.
But it makes me mad and I promise that if veterans around here ever want to protest, I’d be proud to march behind them at a respectful distance, or help out any way I can. On account of this is crap.
Sorry for the long rant, but this has got me steaming.

Excellent quote. As a combat infantry veteran with 30 months in Iraq, I am reminded of the “conservative” movement’s crumbling before feminists regarding women in the military. An absurd notion once opposed by “conservative” growling soon became an accepted reality now advertised by “conservative” pundits advertising the patriotism of “Men AND Women in uniform”. Soon our “conservative” leadership will crumble before homosexuality and big government.
The LORD GOD is the Alpha and the Omega. What was once truth is always truth. Not “conservative” versus “liberal”. The DHS apparently now considers me an enemy of the state just as the Army considers me a nut because I oppose the notion of not only women in combat but women in uniform. We cannot put our faith in the sturdiness of traditional institutions. The military, those scions of tradition and American masculinity, faltered 30 years ago. If the military can stumble as an institution of American values, so can every institution of the government.
Without leadership grounded in Truth, there can be no hope for this country. For this reason, I don’t think America will ever recover.
American men need to grab their sack. But sadly, they won’t. They’re too busy watching porn and playing Playstation.
