GIVE Until It Hurts

Update: Glorious Leader brings new fruit to bear!

[H/T: Bungalow Bill]
I can here it now. behind the closed and protected doors of the White House Oval Office comes the wrod, directly from Rahmbo himself.
“Phase one is nearing completion, sir.”

With the union in economic turmoil, congressional losers leaders screaming to the media about AIG and the horrific, unfair, dastardly deed they are doing by giving the promised bonuses to leaders and everyone focused in on the erupting melee, little to nothing is being said about the passage of Glorious Leader’s Youth Indoctrination Program.

As reported by FOX News:

The legislation, slated to cost $6 billion over five years, would create 175,000 “new service opportunities” under AmeriCorps, bringing the number of participants in the national volunteer program to 250,000. It would also create additional “corps” to expand the reach of volunteerism into new sectors, including a Clean Energy Corps, Education Corps, Healthy Futures Corps and Veterans Service Corps, and it expands the National Civilian Community Corps to focus on additional areas like disaster relief and energy conservation.

But the bill’s opponents — and there are only a few in Congress — say it could cram ideology down the throats of young “volunteers,” many of whom could be forced into service since the bill creates a “Congressional Commission on Civic Service.”

The bipartisan commission will be tasked with exploring a number of topics, including “whether a workable, fair and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the nation.”

Welcome to the great Socialist Experiment. All hail Glorious Leader.

The revolution is at hand. Will you be a leader or a follower?

  1. I absolutely, positively will not ever peacefully submit to participating in any socialist-run, get-your-mind-right, do-your-fair-share training camp. Nor will I so much as lift a finger to perform whatever “social responsibility” task this administration ultimately cooks up and assigns to me to help me “improve the social fabric”. I already do my part.

I get up every freaking day, long before the welfare bums roll out of bed with their Budweiser breakfast. I go to a job that I’ll never be able to afford to retire from, where I work 12 hours / day just to earn enough money to contribute an enormous amount of taxes to make sure the freeloaders amongst us don’t have to labor. So forgive me if the idea of spending my nights and weekends sweeping up needles from city slums, or pulling weeds in some welfare mom’s garden (outside a house I’m paying for), or picking up the trash her kids just threw in the street doesn’t exactly appeal to me. Sorry, I gave at he office.

In short, they can drag my bony arse kicking & gouging into the bus, and ship me off to some secluded “re-education resort” full of sociologists & community organizers, and even then I’ll resist to my last breath.

    Bag ’em!

  2. Bravo, Rick! Now, if it’s possible to make you even angrier……
check out H.R. 1444. Mandatory service requirement for all
able young people, public service academies and more of the like.
    Mercifully, it’s only 12 pages as compared to S. 277 (474 pages).

  3. Janelle,

Thanks for the kind words. I started following the progression of this public service topic nearly a year ago when I first noticed it on The One’s campaign web page. So, unfortunately I’ve seen H.R. 1444. I watched our “elected” mis-representatives surreptitiously peel it out of H.R. 1388 between versions (so as not to leave a trail) and then re-constitute it into an entirely new bill. As if we wouldn’t notice – HA! I even wrote to the “uber-transparent” White House on inauguration day to try to clarify the new administration’s intentions with regard to mandatory service, and guess what. I got no response. I’ve written twice since then, and again, no response. I guess they just don’t want to admit what we already know.

It is exactly those provisions which comprise H.R. 1444 (and which have been echoed repeatedly for more than a year by Dear Leader himself, Michelle O – his socially entrepreneurial wife and Rahmbo Emanuel – his faithful forced-servitude-loving sidekick) that I so strongly oppose. Fortunately my children are of the age where they can oppose mandatory service for themselves – and I have no doubt they will. But for all those with school-aged children, these will prove to be very troubling times.
