So there was this guy. Bernard "Barney" Rubble. Barney lived in the fictional prehistoric city of Bedrock, a world where dinosaurs coexisted with barefoot cavemen and the cavemen enjoyed "primitive" versions of modern conveniences such as telephones, automobiles and washing machines.
Barney’s interests included bowling, playing pool, poker, tinkering around in best pal Fred’s garage and playing golf. He, like Fred, was also a member of the Loyal Order of Water Buffalos lodge and its predecessor, the Loyal Order of Dinosaurs. He is also a talented pianist and drummer.
Barney was a swell guy. The problem was, that Barney and Fred, were always trying to get the quick score. They did a lot of dumb things in an effort to do the right thing. I found it to be sort of a comic tragedy, without the death and destruction…
…well, in truth, there could sometimes be a LOT of destruction.
Which brings us to the descendent of this blockheaded character, Barney Frank. The similarities are striking, and not just in the portliness of their posteriors. No, the bloodline runs much deeper than that. Mr. Frank obviously lost his ancestral knack for trying to do good but making a mess of things. No, our new Mr. Rubble has decided that it is much easier to just destroy things overtly; no covering of true intentions required..
It isn’t about race, remember? All persons created equal, inalienable rights, one the basis of merit, not skin, etc etc etc. I am pretty sure that you have heard the beating of the leftward leaning drums on this. After all, is it not by merit that Glorious Leader now holds sway over our Executive Branch?
So here is our modern-day barney, touting the need for $12 million TAX DOLLARS be allocated to a failing Massachusetts bank. A bank that does not even qualify under the current TARP legislation.
Why would he need that, you ask? The bank is the sole provider of banking in the town? Perhaps they hold liens on some properties and are the only ones qualified on the planet to manage those loans? They were, perhaps, robbed of all of their currency and need a bridge until they can make it up?
Barney Frank says that “…the only minority owned bank in Massachusetts and it would be a shame to see them fail.”
Yep. A bank, which by the way has had all sorts of FDIC issues as pointed out on fousesquawk, that for no other reason than being owned by a minority, needs our tax dollars to keep them in their Porches and multi-million dollar CALIFORNIA homes.
C’mon, Barney. Go back to Bedrock where dinosaurs belong.
The revolution is at hand. Will you be a leader or a follower?
